The Role

Science Technician (Physics)

Full or part time (hours to be negotiated), 39 weeks per year

Start Date: February/March 2024

NOR: 1960 (11-18) (450+ in Sixth Form)

 

We seek applicants with a background in Science to join the technician team within George Abbot’s Science Faculty. Previous experience as a technician is not required as in-post training will be provided.

 

The thriving Science Department is made up of 20 members of teaching staff and 6 technicians. The faculty has a reputation for achieving excellent results at GCSE and A-level. A-level Sciences are a very popular option and there are typically 20 A Level Biology, Physics or Chemistry groups.

 

We require an efficient, organised team player with the ability and knowledge to efficiently support the resourcing of practical work within our Science curriculum. You should be interested in working to support the learning and progress of all students and in belonging to a school wide, professional learning community. Additionally, there is the possibility of assuming some Science Department administration work if it fits the skillset of the successful candidate.
