The Role

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (German/Spanish)

Negotiable Leadership role and TLR available for strong candidate

MPS/UPS or ECT

Required for September 2024

NOR: 1960 (11-18) (450+ in Sixth Form)

 

A well-qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Languages (German and/or Spanish) is required for September 2024, for a permanent contract. All applicants must demonstrate expertise in their subject and be a reflective and impactful classroom practitioner. There is a significant TLR responsibility available for the right candidate. Such responsibilities will be discussed with applicants dependent on individual interest and experience.

 

The Modern Foreign Languages Department at George Abbot is successful, committed and forward looking, comprising of three languages; German, French and Spanish. The Department is currently made up of 7 members of staff and is a hub of teaching excellence within the school. We pride ourselves on being able to engage and inspire a love of languages and culture in our students, as well as build their cultural competency. As a strong team, our aim is to build confidence and mastery in every student and to support all students to become proficient communicators. The school supports student entry for languages at GCSE through its option process and always runs A Level groups in all three languages.
