The Role

Finance Assistant

LPT Grade 5 £27,341 - £29,292 per annum FTE

£18,927 - £20,278 per annum pro rata based on 28 hours per week

Some flexibility on hours and working pattern: ideally 28 – 36 hours per week  

This role is term-time only, with one additional week during the school holidays.

Learning Partners Academy Trust is collaborative Multi Academy Trust (MAT) formed of 16 schools in the Guildford area and working in partnership with many others.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to provide support to the Senior Finance Manager and Head of Finance in the smooth operation of the central Trust Finance Office.

You will:

·        Support with the timely completion month-end tasks and reporting. To include the journal processing and balance sheet reconciliations

·        Accounts payable and receivable tasks

·        Undertake year end finance tasks

·        Assist with Banking Administration

·        Manage the finance inbox.

Working pattern to be agreed but ideally to be spread over 4 or 5 days per week.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

This post would suit a candidate who is studying or wishing to study towards a professional accountancy qualification.

You will:

·        Have experience in finance and basic book-keeping (debts/credits)

·        Have a professional manner and approach and have the ability to remain calm under pressure

·        Have proficient IT skills including MS Office, particularly Excel

·        Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills to deal with enquiries by phone, email and in person

·        Have the ability to work autonomously, using initiative and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines

·        Have a flexible approach to meeting new challenges

·        Have a minimum grade C/4 in GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
